  • We are excited to announce the panelists from the Wyoming Hunger Initiative who will be joining us at our event, A Celebration of Women: A Tribute to Trailblazers, this coming June! Meet First Lady Jennie Gordon: First Lady Jennie Gordon attended the University of Wyoming where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences. Jennie worked for 15 years as a Laboratory Medical Technologist at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She later served as a field service representative for Abbott Laboratories where she traveled throughout the western United States repairing and servicing laboratory equipment at hospitals, clinics, and private practices. Her interest in fighting childhood hunger was sparked long before becoming First Lady when she learned about the issue of food insecurity among residents of Sheridan County. Since that time, she has volunteered at various Wyoming anti-hunger organizations and is passionate about shedding light on the good work that is being done throughout the state to reduce hunger. For the opportunity to hear from impactful individuals like Jennie, and several others, we invite you to join us at the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center on June 27th for an event dedicated to recognizing the trailblazers who make a difference in our Wyoming communities. WWBC clients, Earthside Birth and Wellness Center, hosted their grand ribbon cutting at their birthing center in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on March 28th, 2024. Earthside Birth and Wellness Center is Wyoming’s first freestanding birth center, and offers midwifery birth and well-woman services, as well as pregnancy and childcare classes. Co-owners Sarah Morey and Allison Hayek have been working with the WWBC since early 2023, and engaged in GeekPack marketing training, a Canva Pro subscription, and business counseling. “In the very beginning, Dreambuilder was the big selling point. But being able to connect the different small business resources through [the WWBC] was important. For us the most valuable resource has been hooking up with the business coaching. What an amazing resource that has been provided to us free.” – Sarah Morey, co-owner of Earthside Birth and Wellness. To learn more about Earthside Birth and Wellness Center, visit their website at earthsidebirthwy.com.
