  • Happy Nurses Week! 🏥 This Friday we celebrated the work of our hardworking nursing team with gratitude and a special presentation — a DAISY Award 🌼 Daniel Petrus, an RN on our Intensive Care Unit (ICU), was recognized for his exceptional care by a patient's family member: "During my 12 hours daily in the ICU unit, I witnessed so many acts of kindness to me and my sister-in-law that it would take a book to record them all," His nomination read. "He made me feel welcome as the family member and asked if 'I' needed anything, even though I wasn’t the patient. He attended to my sister-in-law’s every need in a timely manner. I knew she was in good hands with Dan as her nurse." Congratulations, Dan, on this well-deserved honor! And thank you to ALL of our nurses for your impact on our community caring for others with kindness and compassion 💖

At Ivinson, we value thanking our co-workers for Going the Extra Mile for each other and our patients. As a special, house-wide surprise, baskets of sweet and salty treats were delivered today to all departments to celebrate our employees filling the GEM box with GEM recognition cards! 💎📦 The GEM Award was created as an internal recognition program that focuses on Ivinson employees thanking one other for Going the Extra Mile. Recipients of these special GEM cards can enter into a monthly prize drawing by placing them in the drop box in our hospital's West Atrium. After each monthly drawing, the drop box is emptied into a larger box, which, when full, means it's time for us to have a celebration! 🎉 Thank you to all of our Ivinson Team Members for making the extra effort to support our patients, guests and each other! Ivinson proudly participates in the DAISY Award Program, recognizing nurses who demonstrate extraordinary compassion and skill in the care of their patients. 🏥 This quarter’s DAISY Award Ceremony proved that, in the midst of chaos, small acts have big impacts especially to our younger and more impressionable patients. To young Kash, Emergency Room Nurse Hunter Russi-Myers made that lasting impression. ✅ It was Kash's mother, Allyson Lehr, who nominated Hunter for the award — praising his exceptional empathy, professionalism and ability to forge a genuine personal connection with her son. 💛 “Hunter was the most phenomenal nurse to my 3 year old," said Allyson. "With his gentle demeanor and tireless commitment to providing the highest standard of care, he not only addressed the medical needs of my child but also created a supportive environment that nurtured comfort and healing." 🌼

Ivinson is thrilled to announce that we were selected to be part of a $13.9 million ultrasound grant initiative by The Helmsley Charitable Trust. This initiative, which has granted 391 ultrasound devices across Minnesota, Nevada, and starting today, Wyoming, aims to ensure the availability of modern equipment and technology where it is needed. This new support for ultrasound imaging will allow us to diagnose and treat patients with greater ease, potentially saving patients' lives. "Our hospitals need rapidly advancing technology to continue to provide top-notch healthcare close to home," Helmsley Trustee Walter Panzirer said. "Ultrasound saves lives and saves time." “This funding isn’t just upgrading our technology — we’re enhancing access to world-class healthcare for our community,” said Doug Faus, CEO of Ivinson Memorial Hospital. “In places like southeast Wyoming, where access to advanced medical resources can be limited, these new ultrasound machines mean faster, more accurate diagnoses and better care, right here in Laramie.” We're grateful for this contribution and excited to have access to state-of-the art ultrasound devices. Approximately 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. The Savi Scout, a new procedure that has been implemented at Ivinson gives cancer patients more flexibility. 🕛 This device eliminates unnecessary wait times, allowing the surgery to be more efficient and comfortable for patients. “It’s better for radiology, it’s better for the patients that we’re removing the lesion from, and it’s better for the patients who are scheduled for procedures,” says Ivinson general surgeon Jack Ullrich, MD. 🏡 Read more about Dr. Ullrich and the Savi Scout device at: https://bit.ly/3PuqbyC
