  • Flashback Friday 📸 Pictured below left to right (top row) Ray McElwee, Fred Bronnenberg, and Jim Mackey, (bottom row) Dan Groathouse and Ken Groathouse. In the early 2000s Dan and Ken Groathouse decided that they were ready to take a step back from the construction industry. In an unprecedented act, they went to the employees to give them the opportunity to take the reins. Fred, Ray and Jim had been with the company for several years and were excited for the opportunity to take on executive roles. This transition included Fred stepping in as President, Jim as Vice-President and Ray as Secretary/Treasurer. The Groathouse Family cared deeply for the employees and company, Dan and Ken’s thoughtful decision for the next generation of owners reflects that. Fred, Ray and Jim understood the importance of the company values and culture and strove to uphold those. (Fred and Ray are still at the helm, doing that to this day!)

  • Northwest College - Student Center - Project update! There has been quite a bit going on at the Student Center lately! The exterior of the building is close to completion - windows are in, masons are working and the metal siding installation has begun. The interior work is speeding along as well. On the first-floor drywall is finished and being prepped for paint, while the drywall is going in on the second! In the photos below you can see the fireplace is rocked, and covered to protect for the duration of construction. Not pictured - the elevator construction has begun! We are so excited for this facility to be completed for the NWC Students and Staff!

  • Project Updates! New Horizons Care Center: Patio Repair Project GC Crew just kicked off a project in Lovell, WY on the New Horizons Care Facility to resurfacing two existing 2nd outdoor patios with membrane roofing and new pavers to create a safe and functional space for the residents! Anticipated completion in early May, just in time for summer! ☀️😁 Yellowstone Regional Airport: T-Hangars Project GC Crew is nearing substantial completion on the first hangar with just some plumbing, trim out and clean up to finish up! The second T-Hangar has been framed and is currently being sheeted. This project will be wrapping up towards the end of May! ✈️🛬

  • Cody Regional Health - Central Sterile Unit - Project Update This project just reached substantial completion, and as of last week is ready for use by the hospital staff and patients! This was an intensive remodel and renovation that consisted of three phases: 1st Phase - GC Crew remodeled the third floor to create a fresh working area for the Environmental Services (EVS) Department. 2nd Phase - GC Crew then began the remodel of the basement to turn the former EVS Department into an addition of the Central Sterile Unit work area! This work included cutting through a 14” concrete wall (TOUGH STUFF) to create increased space! We also completely renovated and remodeled the Post- Anesthesia Care Unit during this phase. Sometimes this meant working within feet of patients with only Infectious Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) panels between the patients and the work. This necessitated extensive coordination with the hospital and HIGH levels of cleanliness and care to complete - which our crew delivered! 3rd Phase - Lastly, the existing central sterile unit was completely demoed and renovated - complete with new underground plumbing, vast electrical and mechanical work. The project was conducted in an occupied facility, so we took the utmost care during construction! Kudos to Sean, Lauren and crew for their outstanding work on this project!

  • Flashback Friday! 📸 This is a photo of (left to right) Ken, Lonnie, Dan and Hanna (front and center) Groathouse circa 2004! Dan and Ken Groathouse were the second-generation owners of Groathouse Construction, Inc. They purchased the company from their Parents Chuck and Hanna with a dream of continuing on what they built - a company that prioritized the human side of business. Chuck Groathouse lived by the old adage “Treat others how you would like to be treated”, and Dan and Ken did just that. We are so grateful for all that Dan and Ken did for this company and our employees over the years!
