In an interview with Canary Media Inc.'s Eric Wesoff, Art Fletcher, head of domestic content and Illuminate USA business unit, highlights the threat posed by a pending solar trade case. He argued that the petition for cell tariffs from well-established manufacturers is meant to “choke off and crush new manufacturing facilities before a viable domestic cell supply can be established.” That would undercut emerging and innovative competition while “protecting the margins and market share” of incumbents, he said, running contrary to the objectives of the Inflation Reduction Act, which aims to spur domestic manufacturing. https://lnkd.in/gBXp-rME #solar #inflationreductionact

RE:TV, a platform founded by His Majesty King Charles III to showcase innovations accelerating the transition to Net Zero, shared their first interactive article featuring Invenergy EVP and CFO Meghan Schultz. In the piece, Meghan joins Bank of America's Omer Farooq to share how the #IRA is changing the way renewable energy projects are financed and how that will help accelerate the energy transition in the U.S.
"The Inflation Reduction Act was a game-changer." In RE:TV's first interactive article, Meghan Schultz explains how Invenergy used the #IRA's innovative use of the US tax credit system to underpin their $1.5BN acquisition of renewable projects in eleven US states in August 2023. Omer Farooq outlines Bank of America's role in this first-of-a-kind deal that promises to unlock further investment in renewables and accelerate the US's transition to a #cleanenergy future 👇

Last week, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved changes that are an important first step toward a more modern, reliable grid that allows for greater access to affordable and sustainable energy. Now we must build on this momentum and continue transmission policy and permitting reforms our country needs. In a recent post on Power Lines, the Invenergy blog, Nicole Luckey, SVP, Regulatory Affairs; Patrick Whitty, SVP, Transmission Public Affairs and Andrew C. Wills, SVP, Federal Affairs applaud the recent changes and call on decision-makers to finish the work on our country’s transmission agenda by addressing barriers to interregional and merchant transmission.

Solar output is at an all-time high, and companies like ours are taking big steps to manufacture solar products in the U.S. But fully onshoring solar production will take time. In a Crain's Chicago Business op-ed, our CEO Michael Polsky urges policymakers in Washington to promote competition among domestic solar companies and not penalize new entrants.
